Norfolk Va, Locomotive inspection

Post by Glenn Brooks »

Hello all,

I’ve received an offer to trade a 7.5” ga steam engine for one of my locomotives. The steamer is located in the Norfolk Va area. So, looking for someone who could go check out the loco for me and verify its condition. I am basically interested in a preliminary look see and verifying the boiler condition. Happy to pay a consulting fee…

Please PM if you know someone who might be interested.

Thanks much,
Glenn

Yup, give Jeff at LocoParts a call. I know he's busy but he also likes helping people and the hobby in general.

Thanks all,

I spoke with jeff and he did the inspection for me. Very thorough and complete. Highly recommend him for any similar endeavor. In fact, this is a great way to evaluate equipment located too far to conveniently travel.

No, I asked him not to. no need. It’s new. But Jeff, did pull the wash out plugs and inspect visually with a bore scope. Very professional job.
