Mystery Live Steam Photos

Post by dnevil »

Several Live Steam related photos have been posted on ebay.com by Ralston Antiques and Collectibles of Honolulu, Hawaii. Can anyone identify the who, what, where and when of the following?

It looks like Golden Gate Live Steamers. Not sure, but a lead.

That was my instant impression too. GGLS in their very early years.

Yep, Redwood park GGLS

Can't remember the name of the gentleman with the 1" Atlantic in the first pic but it ended up with Fred Hembold years later and then Don Broadhead. We got it back and sold it a few years ago.

Neat pics!

Here's the 1" Atlantic a few years back at Tilden Park.

I have to “pipe up” and say among all the devices I’ve ever seen related to signaling,
the signal at the left fabricated from common pipe fittings shown in rwmorris's attached photo is one of the most robust,
simple arrangements I have ever seen related to wayside signals.
It’s obvious the device could survive a baseball bat.

And to think the economics of making it during the time period was likely “cents” and not dollars.

Very creative signal light.

Yes, but is it water-tight? :D
