I do. It's on the floor under my lathe because it's a pain to remove and replace when changing the belts. That's another short term expedient that was passed on to me by the previous generation. If I was smart, I'd at least put some kind of barrier between the switch and the front pulley. Perhaps another piece of greasy plywood!
