Vintage BMW Racing Bike Machine Work

Post by beemergarage »

I'm looking for someone to help reproduce some modifications on two 1970s era BMW racing bikes that I'm restoring. Need someone close enough to drive over to deliver parts and discuss the work. I'm located in Toms River NJ. Any tallented home machinists or small shops willing to do something different?

I can help if you need pattern work and castings for anything. I've been a fan of airheads for quite some time. Those are GORGEOUS bikes, I'd take the 33 in a heartbeat.

Does Airtech still have the fairings available?

A little locomotive with 4 wheels on the track is a lot more fun
than a 1/2 finished one with 16 wheels on the bench!

Chris, the number 33 bike is a BMW F750 racer. Only two were made in 1973. Mine was raced by Gus Kuhn in the UK, and then sold off and converted into a street bike in the later 1970s when Gus Kuhn stopped racing BMWs. Airtech has the best selection for sure, but very little German stuff. This bike has a Knoscher racer fairing. But I've got that. I'll contact you offline. John

Way cool!

Bret might have something for you, or do a custom job. He helped me with my little Honda 160 project years ago.
