Always great to see the fruits of your hard work.

I do get distressed at the thought of Merlin engines being used in tractor pulls. It usually doesn’t end well for those engines. They belong in planes, not glorified farm implements. :D

Actually, both Mustangs in the video have my engines in them.
I imagine you must feel serious pride!!!

As indeed he should!

Glenn, do you have a protege who can carry this knowledge forward?

Nope!

The only one I have is Kay, and she has been working with me for over 20 years. She can do just about anything, but she is only a year younger than I am.

I got to play with the XP-82 “Twin Mustang” today.

It’s pretty interesting!

How many of them are still flying?
Too many things going on to bother listing them.

As in fly it?
That has to be some experience. Like driving a rail (dragster)?

Are those counter-rotating props?

I wasn't flying it, just working on it and taxiing around a bit.

It is actually huge, at least 1.25 scale of a regular Mustang, and heavy.

Yes, left propeller is RH rotation and right propeller is LH rotation. I believe it is opposite of a P-38.

The engines both rotate the same direction. The right engine just employs an extra gear in the propeller reduction case to reverse the propeller rotation.

I believe Packard supplied some 12-cylinder inline engines for the PT boats and some rescue boats.
