I purchase it in 55 gallon drums for the corn and bean fields
Too many things going on to bother listing them.
Re: Did you pull any weeds today?
A friend of mine started an xmas tree farm in Wisconsin and he gave me some of the weed killer he used to clear around the trees.
At only 3 grams per gallon of water, the amount I have will last me a longtime.
I only use it on the rite of way, and usually keeps stuff down for several months.
Mine was made by DuPont, but now Bayer makes it.

My wife, who is the groundskeeper around here, uses pre-emergent around the fence line in the fall and spring, which helps a lot. We don't have track but we do get lots of weeds. The worst we call goat heads, which are low growing — just a few inches — but produce little pea-sized heads with nasty thorns on them.

Ahhh. So that's what they are. They have them at the Soutern Oregon Live Steamers track. I'd never seen them before. Don't have 'em here in Onalaska.Greg_Lewis wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 6:49 pm The worst we call goat heads, which are low growing — just a few inches — but produce little pea-sized heads with nasty thorns on them.
Nasty little buggers, they are.

I generally have to go with Round-Up, but a new plague has come to Maine. Five years ago, you couldn't find a tick anywhere near us; oh maybe farther south you might, but not in the Bangor region. Three years ago they started in, one by rare one. Last year, plenty, and this year abundant on each of us! Then there's a weed called "Creeping Charlie", which sends out sneaky little rhizomes, and works its way under ballast. Add that to the usual suspects of clover and dandelions and we bring in the Round-Up. Oh, did anybody mention blackberry cane?

welcome to the world of Lyme disease.
are the ticks bringing in the weeds, or the weeds the ticks or are you not weeding because of ticks?
we go years without seeing a tick...then some years over-run with them.
tik-tok....

I think the weeds give shelter to the ticks, Bill. Weeding is like SIsiphys / Sisyphis / Syphillis ? That Greek guy who push a boulder uphill all day, everyday. And frankly, I am scared of the little buggers.

Re: Did you pull any weeds today?
For good reason. My wife has been dealing with Lyme disease for 20 years.
We pick them up around here just walking through the grass.

This thread must be a jinx. Beautiful, manicured, gravel ROW and bare earth shoulders three weeks ago. Apparently I have weeding to do. Actually, we have never had such a prolific growing season.
