Did the board change?

Post by ctwo »

I know the forum software was updated a couple or more years back. Today I'm seeing a new board layout, but am still logged in.

Can I still set up the old look? I could not find it in my CP.

Looks like I found it. Here is something else I found that I'm not sure what's its use.

You are now likely aware that the board just underwent an update of the software. Some options may have been eliminated, due in part to their underuse, or for reasons beyond our knowledge.

Administration expects that there will be a few bugs to be ironed out, so if you are experiencing any issues, please make note here so they can be addressed. We rely on the readers to help shake out the board after changes are made as it's a daunting task for any one individual to check that every feature functions as it should.

A comment (not a mandate). I have followed this board for more than 20 years. I've found that the Allan style SUBSILVER board choice is quite functional, as it suits the way my simple mind addresses the board. I highly recommend it be one's choice (assuming it's a comfortable fit).

Heh! So far I've not been successful in finding that. Would you please describe your board choice, and lead me to this option? I've spent enough time trying to find it.

You have to switch to the default prosilver board, then look at Overview on your control panel. It's obviously a list of login's with a log-in key and IP address, timestamp, etc., I just cannot figure what I would use the data for. Maybe it's associated with the cookie that gets logged on each PC I use so I don't have to log in again, and suppose I could associate that with a particular PC, I'm guessing I could delete that key and that PC would no longer auto-log me into the board.

Thanks for the response.
Frankly, I hate the prosilver option and refuse to use it. For that reason, I am not familiar with the option you mentioned.
Truth be told, before I'd use prosilver, I'd abandon the board. That's a pretty bold statement considering I've been here for more than 20 years.

HI Harold - it looks to me like tapatalk has stopped working - I thinks it probably started around the time of this change.

Correct. It apparently is not functional, and administration is aware. It may not be put back in use due to little demand.

How many rely on it? Please make mention here if it's of need.

Well I don't *NEED* it but I do use it to view this board from my phone which is 99% of usage - if I had to go back to a browser I would probably not visit here as much. Not meant as a threat, just what I have found when other forums became non tapatalk capable.
