The Centenary Suburbs Men’s Shed are building a ¼ scale model Atkinson Steam Truck based on drawings that were produced back in the 1980’s. The measurements on the drawings are all in imperial units. The drives for the engine camshafts are based around three sets of bevel gears that are probably no longer available and we are looking for someone who can supply modern steel equivalents. Details of the original gear sets were as follows:
Main drive ratio 2:1, 16 D.P., 13 and 26 teeth (one of each)
Camshafts and countershaft drive ratio 2:1, 32 D.P., 12 and 24 teeth (four of the 12 and two of the 24 tooth gears).
If possible I think the PCD of the gears sets need to be as close as possible to the original so that the gears will fit into the cast housings. Shaft sizes are either ¼” or 3/16” diameter. Also the sets need to be able to run in both directions.
Can anyone recommend a Company that may be able to supply these gear sets?

Re: Small bevel gear suppliers
I used to get my bevels from Martin or Boston gears.
Browning has a good rep, as does Gleason (but not sure they make something small enough)
In reality, as long as it is a 2:1 ratio and the bore is correct and they fit -> do you really care if they are imperial or metric mod?
There are a lot of small metric gear suppliers, particularly for the robot craze.

Too many things going on to bother listing them.
