I was living in Europe when Larson hit the scene in the US, so the first one I saw was on a Tee shirt during a visit 'home' in the mid 80's.
One glance and I knew it was exactly the perfect gift to take back to my girlfriend.
She loved that shirt!

Seems like a lot of folks here enjoy Mr. Larson's work as much as I do. This linked site has a daily presentation of a few of his comics.

Gary Larson lived just 1 mile north of me in Seattle, in the Wallingford neighborhood.
And I never met him...

He remains my favorite cartoonist. I immediately understood his outlook on life.
