Tormach pathpilot need help.

Post by terry1956 »

Hi, I purchased a small milling machine which uses tormach pathpilot to run it. I was told it worked ok, it was cheap so I purchased it. Found it as a problem. None of the axis move. There is power to the mill, and the motors sound like they are locking up ok. But when I try to jog the mill, tormach comes up with the following. Button only permitted when machine is in state ( reset, referenced. I don’t have any guide to tormach and can’t find much on the tormach site. So can anyone help me out here. What does the message mean, what do I need to do. Or as anyone the tormach manual they can download or give me a link to. Thanks, michael

The Tormach manuals are all online. Just Google "Tormach 440 manual" or "Tormach 770 manual" or the like.

The proper power-on sequence for any of the Tormach mills is
  • undo the emergency stop
  • click Reset
  • click Ref X to move the table to the left-hand X limit
  • similarly for Ref Y and Ref Z
