Eccentric Engineer is taking requests for a future three-feed Bullseye lubricator project in 2.5” scale.

I would need one in 1.5/1.6 scale. Don’t even care if it works. Just want some jewelry for the cab.

I made one in 2.5" scale. A lot work, but it does add to the realism.

If there's enough interest, a dummy hydrostatic in 1.5/1.6" is certainly possible.

I can't help but wonder how many guys who want one have ever worked with a real one. When they are working well they are great - but they don't always work well. Trying to refill them hot can be a challenge. Every engineer that worked with me at the HRR managed to spray hot oil all over the inside of the cab. The slightest leak and the oil goes out the leak rather than to the cylinder. The filler plug has a lead seat that is easily damaged. We ended up using a mechanical lubricator for the cylinders and kept the hydrostatic just for the air compressor.

I want one more for looks since the prototype had one. If not worked in would probably just use it to lube an air pump or something. I think I would still use a mechanical lubricator for the cylinders.

I think they would be very popular
Yes I saw that too yesterday wrong scale for me but it was beautiful. They even had the words Chicago cast into it. Unless it was recently made and 3D printed I would think that meant a mold must have existed at some point in time. Anyone know more about who made that one. I can't even find the listing anymore and I only saw it yesterday.

I've had the same experience running the Baldwin 2-4-2 on the White Mountain Central RR. A shower of hot oil & water is a regretfully common initiation to the steam crew.

I don't recall having the same problem on the Maine Narrow Gauge RR but that could just be age creeping up on me.
Best regards,
