Somebody Help me . . . . . .

Post by gwrdriver »

. . . . understand what Saturated Steam could possibly be thinking.

It appears they've re-entered the Stuart engines castings market and have posted a number of engine sets for sale on eBay. The one that caught my eye was the castings for the Half-Beam, offered at a starting bid of $600 and a Buy-it-Now of $1000, with a $20 shipping charge.

My current 2004 Stuart list prices this engine set at the equivalent of $338.00. Can someone tell me what Saturated Steam is thinking? Everyone is entitled to a little profit, maybe even a generous profit, but 300%??

Harry,

Satuated steam carried the Stuart line from before. I suspect they are
clearing out their stock. Probably who ever is setting up the listings
didn't get the right numbers for that engine.

That's probably what happened, the price would be about right for the MAJOR Beam.

Up here the saying that is very close to what you say is........

"Everyone has a stupid pill jar. And from it each day we are to take one a day.

How ever.......

Sometimes we forget and take a handful instead"

That $338 sounds a bit suss to me Harry. Over here the castings for the 10V go for well over $400 - you sure you've converted it the right way?

My apologies Harry, this mob got the half beam castings listed for $390.25

http://secure.enginemodels.com/cgi-bin/ ... d=!ORDERID!

Still, that comes out at around $700 Aust. Mind you, these are the cheapest Stuart prices I've seen for a long time

Here's the word from Emco, who finally condescended to reply to my query 4 days later,

The castings are $635.85, machined are $ 2546.80, and fully assembled are $4036.75
