Cobalt drills work great, we drill tons of 304 at work with them. Today however I have to try and remove a broken 0-80 tap in a blind hole in a piece of titanium that has about 40 hours of machine work in it!

EDM?
I have a not so fond memory of trying to tap stainless with 0-80 taps.

Is that specifically better than Dassault lubrifant?
I don't know that Boelube is better (I'm not familiar with Dassault), but I can tell you that I used it for trepanning the large number of stainless inner seals for a gasketed filter press I built years ago. I had absolutely no luck with the trepanning tool using sulfur based cutting oil, but complete success with Boelube. I recommend it highly.
It's not cheap.

I once had to drill 100 holes in to 316 Stainless steel and I was using Boeinglube on the drill bit and after I was done the drill bit was still factory sharp. I have also drilled 4 holes into 1-7/8 inch mild steel using Boeinglube and it is like the drill bit was never used after I was done drilling. Now I only use Boeinglube to drill and tap with.

and tap with.
Hmmm. I wonder why I never thought of that? I'm at the tail end of the can of tapping fluid that contains 1,1,1-trichloroethane, so once it's gone I'd be at a loss at what to use.
I thank you for your comment.

Is there a particular part no or trade name for the product that you are using as there appears to be a couple of Boelube for machining products .
do people have a preferred version .
I have never heard or used it so want to give it a try .
