I figure by the 4th page, you guys have fingered a solution, and I know some on the board are not a fan of conspiracy theories, but this one is pretty good...

Bill,
I suspect you're already aware of these, but if not then you may want to take a look at the 75W 120V 2-pin halogen T4 bulbs and their bulb-holders. I used to use one of those inserted through the firehole door before I switched to the magnetic heaters. They give off a lot of heat for their small size.
