Blow down valves

Post by hoppercar »

I have a pair of the superscale okadee boiler blow down valves. Anyone know what size the port is tapped for ?....I wanna make a fitting, to screw into it at the end of the run day, for a locomotive wash down hose...

I'll start by admitting that I'm a noob when it comes to live steam, but isn't the point of the blow down to get gunk out of the boiler? Would the water/steam be clean enough to use for that purpose? Don't know, just asking.

Are you asking about the boiler connection or the 'atmospheric' side?
Too many things going on to bother listing them.
