Re: Piston Ring Question
MrCrispin has just posted an excellent tutorial on his method making cast iron rings. All done very elegantly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsW2IxQfshA

Nah, those won't work for valve rings. My Kozo is slide valve. Don Yungling mentioned using cast iron transmission hook style rings in the piston valves of his his SP GS-1 with bronze liners. $.02Dick_Morris wrote: ↑Thu Jan 21, 2021 2:45 amDoes anyone know if these will work for piston valves?Turns out it was Hercules Sealing Products, PS1600 series of hydraulic seals.

Re: Piston Ring Question
I'm not a super fan of the hook style rings because the hooks prevent further expansion once they are worn, effectively causing a plateau in performance. The non-hook style rings will continue to expand as they wear giving a continued gradual decline in piston performance.

Re: Piston Ring Question
yes...but on some you can file the hooks off and have a flat overlap
Too many things going on to bother listing them.
