Danny, be careful as you get near the car barn, there's a hornets nest in the tie wall along the right of way, Matt sprayed them a couple of times but they're still around.

P.s. The track looks great.

thanks jack, I really appreciate it. it's really becoming a big goal for me to have our club converted to 100 percent plastic ties as quickly as possible so we can all enjoy running trains more. even if I have to sacrifice a lot of my own running time but it's for the better benefit of our members as well as visiting members from other clubs. it's "Amtrak Qualified" :D :) but im not alone, our two long time track chairman's that I work under have been excellent teachers and between the three of us. our track will be better than ever in our club's history.

Hi Everyone, so starting sunday this week march 6th. i was able to finally get back in my groove of tie replacement at NJLS after a long winter hiatus. sunday i installed 37 new ties coming off our bridge near the engine houses. then on tuesday march 8th i did another 13. making a total of 50 ties this week and now i can say that the outside mainline is now 97-98 percent all plastic ties and finally finished. attached are pictures taken from sunday to tuesday. enjoy :D :D oh on a side note we did have a couple of burned up ties that were accidentally damaged by hot ashes from an engine. but it was a quick fix that took only 5 minutes to change out. new count is 2,415 ties replaced and 9,660 screws used

Hi Dan,
I keep thinking about building an elevated 3 - 1/2” gauge track here at our house. I wish you lived closer so you could help me with your very professional track work.

thanks keith, ive had offers from one or two other clubs for "contract work" but im a one track/club guy. i just like sharing photos of my work with others. i wouldn't say im a professional yet. im still learning about switches and other stuff. but in the mean time i just like helping out as an assistant where ever possible. i like helping our club get on the path to be more maintenance free so all of us and our guests can enjoy running trains more. thank you for the kind words though. that's really the joy for me is hearing people say thanks dan, or great job dan. :D
