Is this a logging maintenance loco? I want to build one

As Bill mentioned , you may want to look up the Tom Thumb Loco for drawings and photos
It does not have the beam, but looks almost as neat.
I think there was a Live steam model ( 1/2" scale ?) that was published in the 1930's in Model Craftsman Magazine
Someone here may have a reference

Thanks, I'd like to model something close to the photo I posted in post #1 if I can get some plans close to it. P.S. what is 1/2" scale please?

1/2" scale is 2.5" gauge track....which is still 'rideable'.

if you want something smaller that is a ridable 'standard', then you are looking at Gauge 1 - although your boiler at 3" diameter is probably a bit large for a Gauge 1 model.
Too many things going on to bother listing them.
