7 1/2" gauge, but what scale? 1 1/2", 2 1/2", 3", 3 3/4"?

Many people use 2x4s placed on end and vary the length and spacing to look more like a particular prototype.

John,
I payed 54 cents per plastic tie. full sized 2" x 2"x 15". My ties are brown. I use 3 or 4 ties per foot.

Train Mountain's ties are 2" x 3" x 16" with the 3" dimension vertical. They are gray and are on 4" centers (50% solidity).
