I received an email from the owner's daughter that Frank Field had died.
Frank as a Grand Scale Railroader did more with his two acres, than others with 20.
Be sure you read the posting on the Home Machinist that is shown below in the middle of page three.

This is to let you know that Frank Field, graduate of IIT passed away earlier this year. I am one of his daughters and have been recently checking his emails. .
He was an avid Railroad enthusiast in all of its forms. He will be greatly missed. Sharing his Obit, in case you are interested.

I will be closing out this email account in about a month. You may want to remove him from your distribution list.

Re: Peconic County Railroad
Plans are afoot to build a new miniture railroad in Greenport. The village and a group purchase some of Frank's railroad and recently received approval from the DEC.

What I wish was more clear is whether they purchased all of Frank's railroad, track, engines, cars, or just part of it....and if only part of it what is going on with the remaining equipment...

Re: Peconic County Railroa
Good to hear Mr. Field’s RR will continue on into future. Sounds like it will become a wonderful legacy for his life long engagement and passion for miniature trains. And maybe an inspirational tale for those of us in the hobby to consider some sort of succession planning, as we enjoy building and operating the equipment.
