Autodesk autoCAD
Autodesk autoCAD
I know this is an old question but I"m a newby to the board, What is available for cheap or better still, for free, to read Autodesk AutoCAD drawing files. I don't necessarily have to mess with the drawings though that would be an advantage, but open and review is what I need. Someone in this distinguished collection of characters must have an answer.
Re: Autodesk autoCAD
Look for Volo View Express, downloadable for free from the Autodesk web site. Allows read only, but price is right.

Re: Autodesk autoCAD
Fastcad also has a free viewer on their web site at http://www.fastcad.com
This will open fastcad files, DWG and DXF files which are comon to a lot of other programs.
It's about a 3 meg download as against Volo view at about 60 meg.
Who need s a 60 meg download just for a viewer??

I use autodesk 360 on my android phone and tablet. This app gives you dimension and red mark capabilities also. Free app from autocad.
Re: Autodesk autoCAD
DraftSight 201x is a fully operational AutoCAD clone by Dassault Systemes that is FREE. With it you can create, read, and modify .dwg, .dxf files. I use it instead of the ancient AutoCAD LT 2002 that I finally figured out how to load on Win10.

Re: Autodesk autoCAD
Finally VIAcad has a 2D version for about $30.00 that does a good job.
