Knowing I had to install a sheet metal jacket around the Boiler, I pondered having it made versus just buying a sheet metal machine to do it myself. Russn had good luck with the Harbor freight 3n1, so I started looking in that direction. HF wants $630.00 + tax for a new one and felt that was a lot for a one time machine so off to Facebook Market Place. I looked at several and declined until I found one with very low use and a half an hour from me. We negotiated a price of $450 and I brought it home. Worst case scenario I use it for this project and put it back on Market Place.

Excellent acquisition.
You might be surprised how often you use it.
Enjoy.

Only time will tell. It's going to be awhile before I will need to make the Boiler wrap so maybe during the interim, some other uses will become apparent. Curious Russ, if you ever tried to bend tubing with the roller groves?

"Russ, if you ever tried to bend tubing with the roller groves?"

No, but I've contemplated doing so.. I have a selection of tubing benders that have done those jobs.
I HAVE bent solid rods in those grooves. Very easy and functional.

Are the groove depths 1/2 of the id?
Too many things going on to bother listing them.

sorry should have said OD

if you try to roll a tube in a shallow groove, you can end up making it oval instead of bending it.

this is why tube benders have 'pockets that are deep....

grooves in these 3 wheel roller machines are generally used to form rod -> not tube...

I will look at the groves tomorrow. My PRVs came in today so I installed them along with a vent valve in the steam dome lid.ImageImageImageImage

Looks nicely familiar. Should function as desired.
Well done. Feels good to get those tasks accomplished.

I would express mild concern about the portion of the valve mechanism that is in line with the steam discharge.
