Clearly I need to up my game regarding steampunk design. These two examples showed up on FB today...
Wondering how these would translate to 7.5” gauge...

Hello steamers,
Here's more equipment for steam actions
Not on rails yet, but everything is possible due to a generous boiler, delivering steam to any type of steam engines .
Thinking about a steam-electric driven conveniant vehicle riding on 7 1/4 " rails for my old days.
Carry on!

Re: 2020 Steampunk Quarantine Handcart Contest
This past Saturday, I was able to talk my son into putting his iPad down and head out to the garage to help build a rail scooter. This was a crude 1 day project made of raw materials that I had laying around. I had my son marking and cutting lumber and running the lathe . Hopefully lessons that he can use down the road if needed. The wheels were machined from a bar of delrin rolling on an old set of skateboard bearings. The frame is 2x lumber and wood screws. We pull 2 bolts and the handlebar folds down and the outrigger swings in, ready for travel. By the end of the day he was zooming down a standard gauge railroad siding just down the street. He now has paint and decorating aspirations. Who knows if there will be any steampunk influences in his designs?

Hello friends,
Some progress of my class 20 (still without steam, yet). Photos of the tender and boiler outline are showing the overall look.
All done during corona lock down
Stay happy despite corona

Andy,
That's o.k. all around with your locomotive ! Meccano, isn't it?
Last weekend we held our first steam meeting this year due to covid measures and had fun .
There I have been welcomed in their 'Zero pressure society 2017' as you may see on the photo. A lot of water losses made it impossible to generate any steam
Have fun!

Re: 2020 Steampunk Quarantine Handcart Contest
I finally finished the tender.
I would have preferred to have the height of the tender one row of holes lower than it assembled but I couldn't get the holes to line up that way. It looks taller when photographed from the rear.
The track was inspired by the cover drawing on Gilbert's 1938 "How to Make 'Em Book.
Asteamhead, you asked if it is Meccano. Erector by A.C. Gilbert Co. shares many characteristics of Meccano.
I understand that Meccano now owns the Erector name.
There's a website called something like Girders and Gears that includes a short history of the relationship.
Too much Fun. Now back to something that will hold water.

Just love the “Zero Pressure Society”, and all these steam punk interpretations!

Hello Andy,
Looks like you finished your project . Looks fine, but still would not hold any water, yet
With my project there are some issues like the missing cab or smoke box door, yet. Will come soon.
Glenn,
There is another engine which steamed for some 30 years - no severe leaks all the time
A water tube boiler with superheater, economizer of the closed type with piston pumps , fired by means of fuel (gas) torch. The single cylinder engine with roller bearings could (and still can?) deliver a continous 1 / 30 hp when working hard. That will allow the dog-traktion engine to run about at 3 mph.
There were trials on 5 " gauge and a little boat, too. Sorry, not one photo available
Built during the mid 60s of the last century, I used it for steam trials of pumps, turbo generators and other equipment for my later constructions. Did a great job
