Keith Rucker's Planer in operation.

Post by armscor 1 »

Have to take my hat off to Keith watching the New Haven Planer in operation.
A tribute to our forefathers who designed and made machinery in the olden times.
Must watch the video.

Put a Bridgeport head on it and a set of lead screws and some sort of control and you have a really useful machine.
Too many things going on to bother listing them.

We had a machine like that at an auction here.

Bed was 12' long, 3-4' wide and the head looked like a Bridgeport on steroids - somewhere in the 3-5 hp range.

Probably a BP Series II head.

Make very useful machines..

Maybe cannot remove metal as fast as a planer...but it can do more than cut in a straight line
