Machine shop that gets 10mpg

Post by SteveM »

While looking for a lathe (of which there are almost none out here in western Wisconsin), I came across this:
https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ ... 28579.html

"You are looking at a fully off-grid 100% custom, one-of-a-kind skoolie conversion. We did everything on this bus ourselves, and we did it correctly with the best materials available. Everything is made to last and be easily maintained and accessible. There is no plastic crap and no cheap pre-fabbed RV parts, it’s all custom made. Also, there’s a machine shop in the back. That’s right, a machine shop… and it still gets 10+ mpg! (listing price is for bus with the shop completely removed from the rear space, leaving a large open room 9.5'x7.5', price with machine shop included is $120,000)"

Ha, that's great! If you're going off grid why not take the machine shop with you! Thanks for sharing that.

must have some serious suspension.
Might ride a bit hard after the machines are unloaded.

Isn't that cool! You could go to different places for "Inspiration machining"

That is one hellova camper. Train Mountain in the summer and snowbirding at a Maricopa Live Steamers in Pheonix during the winter. Hook up a train trailer and off you go. Design, build, and operate - all in one!

Pretty neat !.
Several times we have traveled for 4 or 5 weeks ( like to Train Mountain) and I get remorse for not having access to my home shop
My wife calls it "Shop Withdrawl Syndrome " a condition that can only be treated by being at home ....which you then plan another trip.

The posting is sure a solution !
