Centersville Southwestern circa 1952 Part 1

Post by PRR5406 »

I was cleaning out my garden shed and found about three-thousand slide taken by my wife's late Aunt, in the 1940's until around 1967. I did find one of an Erie Pacific under steam, and these as well. Apparently this is the Centersville Southwestern, around 1952. I know nothing about the railroad, other than it's a beloved layout in our hobby. Hope these images bring back some fond memories and comments from you guys.

Henry Becker of the C&SW is the one who told the Sandleys about the Williams Air Brake 'trailer emergency valve' that he was using as a triple valve.

Thank you so much PRR5406! The Centerville & Southwestern RR was my favorite, that I had my first train ride on Labor Day 1952! I have followed it closely ever since! Your wife's Aunt took some fine photographs! If you find anymore, please post! A good portion of the railroad exists today as part of the Phillipsburg Railroad Historians of Phillipsburg, NJ. (prrh.org) I have been to see the Washington County RR in Cherryfield, ME. I believe you are a part of that organization! Wonderful! Thank you again! I appreciate the C&S photographs!
