No promises to make them working. My pumps are from Ed Yungling's tooling.Mike Walsh wrote: ↑Thu Jul 15, 2021 10:58 am Yes.

Re: Compound compressor castings
Has anyone made these into a functional compressor?
And are the castings solid or cored? If cored, what is the approx wall thickness?
Wondering what it would take to make it working?
Thanks,
Glenn

Re: Compound compressor castings
Yes these compressors work - but not very well .
There are a few people working on mods to make them more successful .
The main issue is the control head shuttle valve arrangement this is the area where the main issue is plus a couple of other items .

Re: Compound compressor castings
My understanding is the compressors that Ken Seymor made never worked right and there was errors in his drawings. Howard Gorin now owns the molds for the compressors and it is my understanding that he has tried to fix the molds to make it more feasible to turn into a working model. Brian Keim has successfully made them into a working model, but it required a lot of design work and work with the castings to make it work (sleeves in passages due to porous castings). My understanding the castings from SuperPower detail are not the best quality.
Re: Compound compressor castings
The Compressor castings that Eccentric Engineer will make available ( Ed Yungling's tooling) was made into a working model by Barney Barningham. One difference is that it operated as a duplex and not a Cross Compound. The other difference is those casting are 1.6" Scale and not 1.5" scale. The scale can be an issue if you have mounting holes or shrouding around compressors that is to scale. They are slightly larger and clearances can be affected.
