Magnifier Holder

Post by rmac »

This was a fun little project that's useful every once in a while when both hands are busy and I need some help seeing something small. The lens and the black ring were part of the guts of an old rear projection TV. I copied the joint from one of those magnetic base indicator holders.

That is a magnificent idea! And very nicely done.
I use to work in the consumer electronics market, in a previous lifetime, and have seen many of those lenses. If you put a scale in the picture or some thing of a known size, it may help others to understand the size of the lens, you are using.
I am now after a old rear projection tv. :)

Nice job Russell

Thanks, guys. For size reference, the base is about five inches on a side and the aluminum ring surrounding the lens is about 2-3/4" in diameter.
