.36 or .32 caliber Black powder barrel material

Post by steamin10 »

Does anybody have a pair of waste cutoff blanks about 6-10 inches long, in .36 or .32 black powder bore?

Thinking of a project. 2 pcs needed. .45 will work, but trying to keep the size managable. It will become a custom Pirate pistol.

I would think a larger bore size like .58 or .69 would be more appropriate for the period.

Any updates on this one Dave. Didja start working on the pirate pistol yet ? Did you get a barrel?

I am building a Civil War era Maynard right now using cheap .50 caliber barrel from Green Mountain..This time they sent me a rusty barrel but it it cleaned up good enough ,will work..Cheap barrels work well enough for plinkers

No. Time and resources must be in line to do these projects, so not yet.

Have collected some black walnut limb for the handstock, (very dark core with light sapwood), and will cast whatever fittings and furnature I need from brass. It will be side by side, with a brass sash hook to the left.

REX: PM sent.
