Migod... that's more than Maureen paid for this HOUSE, back in '65 !!

Still, considering prices I've seen at recent gun shows, it's not too shocking. (For instance, one guy is offering a 1911 Colt made by Singer Sewing Machine, for $85k.)

The wood is absolutely gorgeous, and the fit of wood-to-metal is astonishing.

BTW, would that thing, being greater than .500 bore, fall under the NFA ? If so, you'd need to add $5 for the transfer tax. Or is it considered an obsolete cartridge ?

I keep this on my desk. It's a 4 gauge.

My dad made the cartridge because he couldn't find any.

Wow-that is beautiful...Farqhuarson action, the one Ruger patterned the #1 after...and I thought my .338 #1 was a cannon... :D

I need that gun. Got some moles in my back yard causing trouble. One shot from that gun should scare the parc out of every mole within 3 miles.

Jack.

P.S. Thanks harold for the link; payment sent and it's on it's way.

Thanks, Steve. I posted the link in haste, and didn't check to see that it was working.

It is not NFA because it is deemed a sporting firearm not likely to be used as a weapon. This is a bad clause just waiting to bite us all because sporting purpose is what keeps all 20ga and shotguns available to the common person.

The tax on this if it was NFA would be $200 not $5.
