Thank you for correcting my error. :) BTW, my two Black Powder guns were kit guns also, done with a chisel, file and sand paper. Although I am pleased with them, the craftsmanship displayed in yours far exceeds my feeble efforts. :roll: :wink: :)

no kits.. all of mine, so far, are original builds. Not a lot of folks make side hammer locks and few are doing the UH locks like I do. Don't know why exactly, they are pretty easy?? :lol:

I'll admit, I do have two kits downstairs in the shop. A buddy found a New Orlean Ace pistol kit he gave me. another sent me a tinder lighter kit, because he wanted me to have the frizzen/spring idea for a flint Underhammer idea I'm working on :wink:

I'm also working on a scratch build, for a Civil War Jenk's carbine. here is the loading lever and receiver frame. all hand made, in the days before I had a mill..

the gap at the rear of the lever is a feature of the original. it allows the lever a specific amount of rotation, to open the breech for loading.
