Re: Railroad Warehouse 2.8.2 Mikado Logger Build

The rod end bearing of the main where it connects to the crosshead.

These bearings typically take a beating.

Many of us like to use synthetic bearing materials in these locations.

Nylatron or delrin AF or similar are popular -> for good reason.

Re: Completed Locomotive Stand

Beautiful. I am with the drop out.suggestion. have one on my very ugly but functional stand that looks was created by the GEICO caveman in comparison. Re: Railroad Warehouse 2.8.2 Mikado Logger Build

In reality, a diagonal groove on the shoe itself is enough...better in fact since it will never be open to direct dirt contaminatio...

Re: Railroad Warehouse 2.8.2 Mikado Logger Build

Are you going to put oil grooves on the surfaces to help maintain film?

Re: Railroad Warehouse 2.8.2 Mikado Logger Build

It is like a friend of mine who, when they first came out, purchased some $2000 worth (IIRC) of the "forever" postage stamps.

He recently sent me a package of live steam stuff PLASTERED with the stamps.

Think he said he paid $.040 for them.

Re: Railroad Warehouse 2.8.2 Mikado Logger Build

Same here....now, 40 years later, I am able to reach into a drawer and (usually) grab what I want.

If I can remember that I have it.

Thank God for Plano partition boxes.
