I know you said disregard, but I had to look. Open Office opened and displayed it fine.

Re: SVX9000 AF Drives

Rusty, the caps on those don't age well just setting on a shelf. If they have been stored for long periods, it is recommended to recondition the caps, by slowly by re energizing with something like a variac. So if you don't have an immediate use for it, and it has not been setting to long, it might ...

Re: A very strange thing happened.....

I left a can of spray paint in a hot building once. It was setting up on top of a ventilation fan. It blew and not only sprayed paint everywhere but stoved in the top of the fan and left a dent in the metal roof above it. Glad i was not there to witness that one. Just as a note I commonly see peopl...

Re: carburator bowl vent

Ken, those floats caused a lot of hair pulling. We discovered early on that as soon as it came out of the carb, set it on the bench. If it sat there with the bail sticking out in the air it was heavy, if it fell over and rested on the bail it was likely good. That said, I never put a kit in one that...

Re: Inclusion Rant !!

John was over on PM reading your post there, and clicked on your picture to view the inclusion and the page locked up on me. Been doing that for a while now. So I moved on over here and low and behold first post I entered, I got to see your picture.

Re: Never enough time

Hang in there Dave, and if you have to do something in order to eat, insist on cash. With no paper trail, something like that is hard to prove.

Re: Don't think I can make this

If I had to make that, I think I would rough it out and leave the shaft fairly large, but small enough that I could take it down to finish diameter in one cut. I might turn the very end and the little notch first, and then go from there all at once.

Re: Never enough time

Eeeek!!!! I just learned it may take up to 6 months before the first check arrives! That is very disturbing news. I dont think I can coast that long Dave, been so long ago, but I think I waited the 6 months also, but I was fortunate enough to have been offered a Long Term Disability insurance packa...

Re: Never enough time

Dave, glad to see that you got approved. I had to make the decision to apply when I was 39 yrs. old, had a good job with good benefits and retirement package. Hardest decision I ever made, but specialist told me if I kept pushing it I would wind up in a wheelchair. May have been the time, or maybe b...

Re: What was the problem with the Rem. 700?

If it was one of the early ones, and the gun discharged when the safety was disengaged, then it should not be a problem. If it actually went off while loaded and the safety was still on then bubba has probably been working on it. If you can open the bolt with the safety engaged then it is a later mo...

Re: acrylic

Grind a neutral rake HSS tool and get it as sharp as possible, fairly large radius on the nose, it will be more of a shaving cut, rather than than tending to dig in and cause chipping
