Re: Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch tips?

Greg,

Don't know if you go on Facebook, but if so go to their page and contact them about a possible shop tour. Can't hurt to ask, you never know. Lots of info on their page as well

Re: Trains in Ireland? Priorities in London?

#4 Any cathedrals...... I couldn't agree more if that's what your into. Spent the summer of 1977 in Great Britain . I was 10 at the time. We had Brit-rail passes and hit many of the Cathedrals for organ recitals ,along with stops at many of the smaller gauge railroads as well as the Railroad Museum ...

Re: chuck jaws

Lewayne, Take your outside jaws and get a good set of measurements off of them....then look on Ebay. Wait long enough and eventually a set of jaws will show up. I was able to do this and find a set of jaws for a 12" chuck I had. On the other hand you may want to just purchase a good chuck with ...

Re: CME 4-jaw chuck

ED,

I have a 4 jaw Skinner and a Horton I believe, but If memory serves correct your Dual Drive is an L00 nose. Either chuck would need a back plate which usually cost more than the chuck itself. I'll check the sizes and get back to you.

Re: Coolant for the Mill

Like Harold I don't recommend any system that atomizes coolant...except I did run a job machining 1/2" x 2" stainless bars (304) where it did work exceptionally well. The material which was sheared, had to have both edges faced. The coolant with constant air flow helped keep the cutter coo...

Re: Let us discuss

Make it a 1.5 scale v12 liquid cooled diesel engine that could power our model locomotives ...that would be exciting.

Re: Let us discuss

Everyone knows that with CNC machines you simply load in your drawing, clamp down a chunk of material, hit cycle start and out comes a part that looks like your drawing....it's as simple as that!   My nephew works for a company in which the owner and the general manager actually thin...

Re: Fed up

Why is it when a friend or family member needs help with something, your there to help, but when you need a helping hand ,everybody disappears or gives you every excuse under the sun why they can't be there. Over the years I've learned how to do everything myself so I don't have to rely on anyone. N...

Re: PB Blaster is Snake Oil

My preferred choice for penetrating oil is Kroil....anything that comes in a spray can with a nozzle is a plus....but whether it works or not depends on how long the parts have been rusted together. I usually add a little heat first. As for WD-40, I keep a can on my Kitchen sink when i am doing main...

Re: Combustion chamber Rheem hot air furnace

So after contacting several HVAC companies here in NY and being told that the combustion chamber was discontinued/no longer available, I started looking at universal chambers and other chambers made by Rheem for similar sized furnaces. I figured I might be able to get a similar size chamber and adap...
