is what I remember steve doing - although it had troughs in it to increase the surface area....

seem to remember is looking like an accordion from the top with holes in the V sides....

didn't smell like a popcorn engine though :shock:

Did you put new seals in the hydraulic pump?

Is the hyd pump belt driven or mounted on the engine black and gear driven?

Yesterday I spent $125 on gasoline to run my lawn mower for the next 3 months.

It cut grass like a banshee, but us very thirsty.

$5 for a coffee makes it seem cheap to take care of the bearings in our machines...

Steggy is correct about improper installation of copper and its possible eventual failure and use of stainless, however the tried and true use of copper is just fine. Simple soft soldering is more than enough for this application where copper can be used. Look at IBLS www site for bill van brocklin'...

good luck with penn coal. they are now shipping only by the RR car load, SO IF YOU WANT 20+ tons, you are good to go. Gone are the days of a few bags or pallet load. They WERE our source of Pocahontas coal for decades.... venus tile and marble only sells what they have, they are not a mine / major d...

If it is ball and roller bearings only...it is a good point.

However if sleeve bearings are involved, as may be in a lathe, or in my case old sleeve bearing pedestal grinders as well, prefer to stay with specific spindle oil.

Get some cutting oil while you are at it, and some drills.

I keep a list on my computer ....
