Re: Did the board change?

Well I don't *NEED* it but I do use it to view this board from my phone which is 99% of usage - if I had to go back to a browser I would probably not visit here as much. Not meant as a threat, just what I have found when other forums became non tapatalk capable.

Re: Did the board change?

HI Harold - it looks to me like tapatalk has stopped working - I thinks it probably started around the time of this change.

Re: Thread Locker shelf life

Reminds me of the Himalayan salt that is advertised as 250 million years old yet it has a expiry date within the decade.

Re: Best cutoff tool profile?

Note that I am assuming here that the manufacturer is honest Obviously, you have not dealt with Chinese manufacturer. I worked for a major computer company and rejecting non-compliant parts was a full job. I am not talking about the rare defective part; I am talking about cheating by a process that...

Re: Best cutoff tool profile?

My best cut off blade is one made with high grade HSS German steel. All the cheap Imports and off brand (HSS) blades I’ve used are basically poor to worthless. So have become a believer that the grade of steel is more important than the profile… Just a note. Steels alloys are defined by standards, ...

From the little I know of Harold (from his posts on here only) I suspect his project would be the smallest steam tractor not the biggest

Re: Can I get copy of the site?

This may be possible to do without getting personal data or even involving the site admin. As it is a phpBB forum you can follow the advise on this post on how to scrape all the posts to your hard drive. It will require some computer literacy though. https://superuser.com/questions/116201/how-can-i-...

Re: Welding on 110 vs 220. Amps change.

Where are you placing this clamp meter? On the cable coming from the wall outlet to the welder or on one of the cables from the welder to the torch or ground clamp? If the latter then your clamp meter will probably not work correctly as the inverter output is not a pure AC or DC output but rather a ...

Re: Interference fit

Your professor in physics class never heated a duplex stainless pump impeller 36” in diameter with a 10" shaft bore using a half a dozen hand held oxy torches. Get the heating wrong (not uniform) and the bore shrinks...what makes it worse is when you are trying to fet the impeller OFF the shaf...

Re: Pre-paid burner phone?

The new dumb phones (otherwise called Y feature phones) will work with the latest technology too.

For example the new Nokia 5710 supports LTE is only $69 and has a 20 day battery life.
Or get the Nokia 225 4G for $47 on Amazon. Also a 20 day battery life

Re: Pre-paid burner phone?

If you want to go cheaper Google search for "dumb phone". It's actually becoming the new craze amongst the 25 to 35 year age group. The youth are starting to feel that smart phones are controlling their lives and there is a yearning for a basic phone with no internet. Dumb phones sales are...
