Re: It was not uncommon for wildcatters ...
As I recall, you grind the D bit under half on the order of .001 per .5 inch of diameter. I have made reloading dies this way. You can find cartridge dimention's in some of the older reloading manuals, such as speer. R. Johnson

Re: What kind of solder for electric motor brushes?
Mark: What make of TNT motor are you working on, OMC, Mercury, etc? Is it mounted on an outboard, or IO. If it is an OMC, give me a year & model, and I will check the factory service manual. R. Johnson

Re: Rem. bolt alteration
The reason I asked about using a Savage bolt head was because the Savage seem's to shoot so well for an out of the box rifle, and was wondering if the floating bolt head was one of the factors. My son's have several Remington actions, and Jewell triggers on hand, and were asking about having a .222 ...

Re: Crankshaft Toolbit
Could'nt you make up a crank by using pressed fit's. This is done on some snow mobile, and motorcycle engines. You could use ground steel pin' for the rod throw's. You could make up a steel cylinder that would fit the crank boss's to hold alinement during pressing

Rem. bolt alteration
How hard would it be to fit a Savage bolt head to a Rem. bolt? I don't have a Savage bolt to check the internal's. George: I have used a length of threaded drill rod with delrin washers many times. The shop that does the bluing likes this method because they can hang the barreled action from the threaded rod.I have never had bluing get in the bore. R. Johnson

Re: Need gasket removal hints
If you have a Johnson-Evinrude dealer close by, see if they have a can of gel-seal & gasket remover. This is intended for aluminum parts. This comes in a spray can, so protect your eye's. This stuff really works, and is fast.
