Re: Simple, heavy duty, truck design for ballast cars

Hi Greg,

Would you also be willing to share the drawings with me by chance?
They would look perfect under my two future wooden ore cars.

Re: Filters for Standard Injectors

Hi Charlie, What part number are the K&N filters if you don't mind me asking? I see there's an 81-0302 and a 81-0300 version. Did you modify yours in any way? I like the idea of using one when filling-up my mogul boiler at the days beginning and having one eventually in the injector water delive...

Re: 1.5" scale 2-6-0

I will second anyone of how good the "Scotty" design is. Thanks to board members and other generous individuals last year I was able to track down and obtain a casting set for the "Scotty" mogul. Like Pontiacguy says, if need be you can substitute RRSC medium weight drivers, whic...

Re: To pump or not to pump that is the question

As John B has said, why do away with a working back-up. You never know when your injectors may decide to pack-up on you. Have seen this happen a few times. A piece of junk from some source on the engine gets in the cones and that's the end of that. I have run a few engines without axle pumps and the...

Re: Searching for 2-6-0 "Scotty" Mogul Drawings

Thanks Pontiacguy. That's what I thought the oiler might be but I have not seen any on engines recently that had this around me. Seems like it might be fun to try out and use just to be different from everyone else out there. Plus I like the whole: simple, easy, cheap, and effective scenario.

Re: Searching for 2-6-0 "Scotty" Mogul Drawings

Looking over my copies of Paul's drawings and the 50th drawing for the lubricator mentions it's a double feed lubricator hand pump. After viewing it, was this an actual "hand pump oiler" in the cab or nearby that you just gave a shot of oil to the cylinders occasionally, or am I missing so...

Re: Track Work

Fantastic job! Our track just recently changed to these ties a few years ago. They work great is all I can say and no more rotten tie replacements.

Re: Searching for 2-6-0 "Scotty" Mogul Drawings

Hi Pontiacguy1. Thanks for the amazing response! If you are willing to email the pdf files to me that would be fantastic! Sounds like Paul's redrawn files are much better than to have for a very much improved engine overall. This is definetely the type of information I have needed!
