Re: Norfolk Western Y6B live steam First Run

Re: fuel topic
bill shields, everyone at NJLS always to this day still busts my chops about making coal dust bricks. but it's too much work. just sifting the dust out and blending anthracite to keep the smoke down is enough work.

Re: fuel topic
welsh is great, well too good actually. but it just didn't have that good sulphur smell to it. Hmmm. Maybe I'm missing something, but I''m having a hard time thinking that it's sulfur smell that you're missing. I grew up in a smelter town (Midvale, Utah) where sulfur dioxide was emitted by the ton ...

Re: fuel topic
The problem that we have with the smaller fireboxes is that just getting the currently available coal to burn is a never ending problem. I hear my house with coal, and living on the edge of Amish communities, getting coal is not a problem. However the clinkers and slate that come with it, while man...

Re: 3/4" Scale J1e
Hello My Friends It seems that Dan didn't read my post. I explained that I knew 5344 probably never had the oval plate. Let's see you prove it. 5344 was a test bed for many features such as streamlining. She had two different streamline treatments. Different tenders, different drivers, roller beari...
