Re: A good reliable injector for inch & half scale that works ????
Hi All
I want to Thank you for all the reply's My friend is going to bring the injector up to house and I will take a photo, and I will check all the following as per posts. And yes I do agree, it could be a small air leak, or the steam valve, water valve etc etc. I will post a photo, later this coming week, and thank you all I appreciate your support and answers. Pat.

Remember

Not the invocation of evil spirits for evil purposes. Then we'd be recommending Pat engage a Shaman.

Hi Fender
If this is a superscale injector, where is this washer located, and how should it be facing. Maybe that is also the problem.
The locomotive I am talking about, was build by WLS member Don Cornell, and 0-4-2 the Locomotive has side water tanks, no Tender.
As I said I will post photos of the injector, sometime this week, and again Thanks for all the Help, it is appreciated, Pat WLS.

The washer would be inside the injector, installed on the delivery cone. It is important to check this, but if the washer was stuck the injector would not work at all at any pressure, so I don't think that's the issue here.Pat Fahey wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2023 9:11 am Hi Fender

Now hearing that the engine has side tanks and no tender, I'd be more inclined to think the feedwater is getting too warm. 110-120F is the absolute upper limit for feedwater temperature.
There was a discussion about the washer and what it does here: viewtopic.php?p=458418&hilit=injector+washer#p458418

dump ice in the tank....
so...run engine until injector ceases to work
dump crushed ice in the water tank (helps if the tank is only 1/2 full.....)
see if injector starts to work.
did this in the middle east desert decades ago -> was the only way to get an injector to work at all.

Hi All
I am sorry it took so long to get back to the subject on the injector, I finally have a photo of it, there is no name on the injector. I finally got it, from my friend and gave it a good vinegar cleaning now you can see though it from both ends. I am including a photo and hopefully someone can identify who made it.
I also would like to Thank everyone for all the answers with the problem, it is very much appreciated, Pat.
