silver solder

Post by steam4 »

Hi all I am making a PM research boiler from a kit. thesilver solder supplied is 5% silver so there is a lot of rivet work. There are 13 flues. If I use 56% silver solder can I do away with the rivets. The 3" Campbell center flue I made seems to be ok with 56% silver and no rivets.

And what are you going to hold it together with while you solder it?

Rivets serve 2 functions

It is an easy calculation otherwise
Too many things going on to bother listing them.
