So, I spent Saturday at my buddies CNC shop and made the Eccentric rods. Still need to make bushings and drill oiling holes.

This last week I worked on getting the Cylinders painted and baked and today I mounted them on the frame. Prior to Painting I made gaskets for all the end caps and mounted them to the cylinders and painted all of it at the same time including the bolts. The lift came in real handy as the bolts on the bottom inside are not easy to access from the top.

Thanks much. I would be a lot farther along if I did not have to redo so many things done by the previous owner! I recently discovered I need to remake the bronze crossheads as the machining is way off. It is what it is lol.
I see your making some good progress too.

Ody:
Great progress! Looks good.
You must be feeling better about all the required work to refinish this locomotive project.
Keep on plugging.

Do not look at it as redoing...look at it as making pieces for the project.

Thanks guys, your support is much appreciated. I must say however taking one step forward and two steps backwards has become a frequent dance with this project. I will run with the unexpected "nuggets" and continue to plug along as I am way too far into it to stop now. This is after all one of my biggest Bucket list items!

I really wanted to use powder coating, however my oven is in the cold side of the shop. I would have to wait until warmer weather to use it, so I ended up using paint. High Temp enamel on the cylinders and saddle and standard paint on the rest.
