Re: John's Clishay build log
Could be the way you hold the camera...
Too many things going on to bother listing them.
Re: John's Clishay build log
That is what our experimentation here has revealed.
Each photo has "meta data" with it, which retains the original orientation, regardless of post-editing performed.
As a result I have altered my left-handed holding of my iPhone and adapted "right hand" holding.
Photos remain proper now.
Sigh...

You would not be left handed...would you?

Ambidextrous, with a lean to theft.
Write right handed, throw left, bat both, kick both, whatever.
I'm lost. So it took me a while to figure out the iPhone picture orientation.
I never paid attention to orientation until the results reared their confounding aspects on this discussion board.
Sorry for the hijack.

That can get you in serious trouble!

Re: John's Clishay build log
Very nice
I would consider running a reamer through the holes...esp those near welds.
No telling if they are still round otherwise.

Re: John's Clishay build log
saw the boiler in half through the shell -> straight through the tubes.
from that point, getting the tubes out is easy because you can get to both sides of the sheet.
weld the shell back together and put in new tubes...
anyone who has done it any other way...well....it's a learning experience...
