He must have sat on tender. Funky looking tender for sure. Main rod with an offset ? Was this built by Holt or Pinkham ? 3 1/2" on the ground in the thirties. Any markings on any of the castings? Saddle, valve chests, cylinders.

I believe they must have sat on the tender, since the foot pegs are up in front of it. There may have been a seat attached to it.
I was told it was built by Holt.
As for markings, I haven’t looked that closely for any.
I’ll have to check it out more when I get a chance.
I have a few pieces that need to be attached to it as well…..the front ladders and bell. And a couple rods etc.
it’s a really interesting piece of history!

Have you owned this loco for any length of time? I remember these photos from when it was for sale sometime in the past 8 years or so.

As a builder of a 3/4” scale 4-8-4 Northern I find those pics encouraging.
New to live steam

I think the Northern was built by Pinkham and the Pacific was built by Calvert Holt.

Yes, I’ve owned it since 2011. My dad had it since the early 90’s.
I have considered selling it.
