Got a little cut and tacked together. The prints for the ash pan show no air access other than the boiler not sitting on the pan . I assume that this is for the propane rosebud burner. i also feel that this is not enough air for coal so some doors will have to be included. Also the prints indicate that it is removable from the underside with the bolts thru the rails which is doubtful. The best I can tell the propane burner sits on the grate bars and installed from the underside but I believe it will fit thru the door.

This is the front door of ashpan for burning coal. The rear door is bolted in I guess I could have made the front bolted in also but I had worked on the front before I worked on making the pan removable from the bottom which turned out to be pretty easy.

Some good progress today.
Rough turn
Drill, thread and counter bore
Thread both ends of rod
Thread piston on the rod and finish to size
Cut the ring grooves.

I turned my shop upside down looking for the piston rod glands. I went back in the pictures and I guess I made the valve glands but not the piston glands. Those will be next.

When the back head's were machined back some time ago I did not completely finish the block that the cross head guides bolt to but wisely machined a square reference to align to. Once to size then the hole had to be drilled on center and square with the rod.

Thanks Russ for your support.
The guide bars were drilled at the head end mounted and checked for length and placement of rear block. The motion plate is sitting on guide bars and will have to be relieved that distance plus the foot. Jim
