Wasatch Railroad Contractors Bankruptcy Auction

Post by Dick_Morris »

There are a couple of pitiful looking grand scale locomotives, some cars, wheels, and rail they might be of interest to anyone near Cheyenne, WY. Wasatch made several replica Cagney's.

I dunno, Bill. The tools look heavily worn and the bulk looks like total junk to me. If you could go out and pick over the remains, you might find a few items worth the trip. Also, based on the charges which put the head honcho in prison, I wonder how much of that stuff was actually Wasatch property?

Not a lot I would want. .but in WY..

If purchased at auction...is that not a clear title?

I see some familiar stuff- an Aerotrain, what looks like a 15” Crown, etc.

‘All sales final at auction’, anyone who has title to any of this stuff must show up to claim it, once it is sold, it is the buyer’s property and the cash goes to the bankruptcy.

It hurt to see all of the flexible stays. Lacking a clear provenance they are just so much scrap metal.

How many reproduction Cagney's did John finish? I believe he started 6. I'm aware of one near Tupper Lake, NY that was delivered and finally finished and made operable. I did not show up that way and took some time to get it right.

Rob, there appear to be three in the auction, plus some misc parts. If one was delivered, that leaves 2 unaccounted for. Don’t know what quality of machining they have, but certainly they are classic looking machines. To bad the company went to the dark side.
