A few years ago there was a discussion of another device for turning polygon shapes on shafts. I don't remember its name but it involved putting the cutting bit off axis while things rotated about the lathe axis. Does anyone remember the name and how would it compare with this approach? I believe the tool is commercially available but it did not look too hard to build. I was going to try to build it but then my shop flooded and I'm still trying to get things working again.
