Ball Lead screw interchangeability

Post by cbrew »

Morning all,
I know this is a long shot, but i happened across a gentleman that is offering to sell me a Mititoyo controller, DRO, Ball screws, servo motors etc.
here is the question i need answered.
the lead screws was purchased to fit a Alliant Bridgeport clone with a 10X54 inch table.
I have a j model bridgeport with a 9X42 inch table.

other then needing to shorten the lead screws, what are the chances they will fit.
I am not having much luck on finding the dims for the two machines so i can compare.

anyone have an answer or a lead i can follow?

Thanks again
Chris

The only differences other than screw length might be mountings, which you can obviously machine ;-)
I use CBN inserts to machine hardened ball screws without the need to anneal.
