USRA Heavy Mikado blueprints

Post by Loco112 »

Do you guys know where a person could buy a set of the USRA Heavy Mikado original builders drawings?

another option is, do you now of any RR's that have an archive that used those and kept the drawings for their USRA Mikes long enough for them to have made it into an archive?

The list of RR's that used these was long, so they must still exist somewhere.

The New York Central Historical Society has their light and heavy Mikado drawings available on CD/DVD....

As I recall, the NYC classes H6 (light) and H9 (heavy) used the USRA design.

Getting ready to order 2 cds. They send a form to sign stating that I'm not going to distribute the contents. I'll be sending off for drawings sometime this week....will post about it when I get them. But for $90, I hope it's pretty complete.

I'm ordering J3a and 999 drawings.

One more thing;

Does anyone know where the Southern RY Locomtotive blueprint archive is located?

I read that the Southern USRA Heavy Mikados had a longer trailing truck and a longer firbox, and boiler course.

I found some info on the Smithsonian site, I'm wondering if thats where they (Southern Blueprints) went.
