Re: VB pumps
You had double posted that one----so I deleted the second one. It appears the pictures went with it. Sorry! (All is not lost---I now understand that can happen )steamingdon wrote:I don`t know what happened to the photos,Iwill try again.
Please feel free to post them again if you're so inclined.
Edit: I just deleted another post that you had doubled. It, too, lost the picture, but I took steps to replace it.
Be careful when you post that you do not double enter. In the future, I won't be able to duplicate the pictures as I did this time, so if you'd like them to remain, click only once to post.

RE: 3/4" Pump
Don,
Wow, those pumps are really nice looking work.
It would take me about 6 months of Sundays to make one of those, and who knows how many more to get it working.

Rob:
they are not that bad - don't sell yourself short.
After all - even I can make one that runs.
Making a bunch is very efficient since setup is probably 60% of the work

RE: Making pumps
Bill,
When the table on my 14" table China made mini mill moves about 1 1/2 mils when you lock the table, it my not be good enough for everthing to line up perfectly.
Good news is it is usually perty repeatable, specially on small items that do not require a lot of table movement, and it is a world above having no mill at all. I have seen a lot old Bridge ports that were far worse too.
I stick with injectors and axle pumps first, at least until I finish the 1 1/2" ten wheeler, then maybe it will be time to make these perty little wonders.

RE: Making
Bill,
Why make injectors when you can buy them at what seems to be a resonable price, considering the percission required to manufacture good ones.
I realize injectors only have only a few dollars of material in them, and this hobby was founded by guys that coluld only aford it if they made it them selves, and my hats off to all of you that can make all these functional minature accessories.

In many cases, it's because you can. No different from a guy that can do oil painting, and does. It's a way to express one's abilities.10 Wheeler Rob wrote:Why make injectors when you can buy them at what seems to be a resonable price, considering the percission required to manufacture good ones.
Not everyone is interested in getting an engine finished. To some, the journey is what it's all about, not the destination.
